Let´s start a colourful week!!! I confess I'm in love with these scrubs, because of their colour (I love this aquamarine!!), the fresh peppermint fragrance, their shape (it is so easy to use!), how they leave the skin (so soft and scented!!). .. how hard it is to be objective :(
peppermint sugar scrub |
Vamos a utilizar:

I love the homemade sugar scrubs, and certainly, I shared a big amount of them in this blog:
But none of them were in cubes!!! So I feel (somehow) original and it´s a good excuse to share this recipe with you!
It is super easy to make, and like always, you can change it in a thousand ways and adapt it to what you have at home and you feel like using.
It is super easy to make, and like always, you can change it in a thousand ways and adapt it to what you have at home and you feel like using.
We will use:
1/4 cup coconut oil
3 cups sugar
Optional: peppermint essential oil, natural or food colorant
Melt coconut oil in a double boiler, remove from heat, add a few drops of essential oil (optional) and pour very slowly in the sugar, mixing well. Spritz some water to ease the task of integrating the sugar. When you see that you can make a small ball of sugar without your mixture falling down, you can spoon into the molds. The molds can be ice cube trays or any mold used for cupcakes, cake pops, chocolates, etc, silicone ones are much better, because it will be easier to unmold. Once we have put into molds, push down firmly and spray with a little bit of water.
Keep in the fridge for half an hour to solidify and then you can unmold.
Store in an airtight jar and use as any other scrub.
You´ll be amazed with their fragrance!!
I used food coloring to give it a touch of color, I confess that I have a beautiful peppermint plant and was about to steal a few branches to make this scrub, but I had no strong heart to do that :)
With this recipe you´ll get quite a lot of sugar scrub cubes, you can do less, proportionately reducing ingredients, or give them away, as it´s such a beautiful gift!!
Here´s an extract of a post where I list the benefits of exfoliation:

Here´s an extract of a post where I list the benefits of exfoliation:
What is the importance of a regular exfoliation?
To remove dead skin cells, leaving skin clean and toned, prevent skin aging and activate the micro-circulation, regulate oily skin, stimulate the lymphatic system and facilitate hair removal preventing the formation of ingrown hair. Exfoliation gives skin a more even aspect and smooth feel while improves the action of any beauty product.
As always, your comments are an immense joy and motivation to continue, so I say goodbye waiting for your opinions and I wish you a very happy week !!
