If you often stop by this blog maybe you´ve noticed that a lot of the recipes that we share here have a common ingredient: coconut oil. For its immense properties and its versatility, it is a wonderful ally in this exciting world of homemade and natural cosmetics.
Today I would like to collect some recipes and tips where coconut oil is the main protagonist.

Si pasáis a menudo por el blog habréis visto que una gran cantidad de las recetas que aquí compartimos tienen un ingrediente en común: el aceite de coco. Por sus inmensas propiedades y por su versatilidad es un aliado maravilloso en este apasionante mundo de la cosmética casera y natural.

Hoy me gustaría recopilar algunas recetas y trucos donde el aceite de coco es el gran protagonista.

lotion bars

Empezamos esta selección con uno de mis productos favoritos, las lotion bars. Frotando suavemente sobre la piel seca (o ligeramente húmeda al salir de la ducha), estas barritas hidratan la piel, renovando su tersura y su equilibrio natural. A la vez que hidratan, tratan y previenen todo tipo de infecciones y muchos problemas de piel.

This selection starts with one of my favorite products, lotion bars. Rubbing on dry (or slightly wet) skin, these bars moisturize the skin, renewing its smoothness and its natural balance. While nourish, they treat and prevent all kinds of infections and many skin problems.

bálsamos labiales/ lip balms

No puedo no mencionar los bálsamos labiales, que son la entrada más popular del blog, y supongo que una de las que más ha gustado. Una vez más, el aceite de coco es el ingrediente infalible para unos labios hidratados y saludables, porque no sólo previene y combate el resecamiento, sino que previene la aparición de herpes, llagas y grietas.

I can´t write this post without mentioning the lip balms, which are the most popular post in this blog, and I guess one of the most liked. Again, coconut oil is the infallible ingredient for hydrated and healthy  lips, not only it prevents and combats dryness, but also prevents the occurrence of herpes sores and cracks.

crema de coco, lavanda y karité / coconut, lavender & shea butter cream

Pasamos ahora a la sección cremas, y tenemos muchas opciones, dependiendo del uso que queramos darle y la zona a tratar. Una de las que mas me piden es esta crema super hidratante, que en casa llamamos "la neutrógena", porque es super curativa y reparadora. Últimamente la estoy utilizando muchísimo en los pies por las noches, porque es increíble cómo hidrata. También la utilizamos para curar heridas y suavizar la piel cuando está muy seca.

Let´s turn now to the creams section, and here we have many options, depending on the use we want to give and the treatment area. One of the most demanding creams is this super-moisturizing. At home we call it  `the Neutrogena´ because it is super healing and restorative. Lately I'm using it a lot on my feet at night, because it's amazing how it moisturizes. We also use it to heal wounds and soothe the skin when it is very dry.

crema de coco y limón / coconut & lemon cream

Para el cabello, nada mejor que esta crema de coco y limón, no sólo huele fenomenal, sino que las propiedades antisépticas del limón potencian los beneficios del aceite de coco, aportando brillo, suavidad, y ayudando a obtener unos bonitos reflejos de sol. Déjala actuar antes del lavado, y para potenciar su efecto, déjala toda la noche.
Esta crema es tan versátil que se puede aplicar por todo el cuerpo.

For you hair, nothing better than this coconut and lemon cream, not only it smells great, but the antiseptic properties of lemon enhance the benefits of coconut oil, providing shine, smoothness, and helping to get some nice hints of sun. This cream is so versatile it can be applied throughout the body.

ungüento curativo y relajante / healing & relaxing salve

Para heridas, quemaduras, golpes, llagas, dolor de cabeza, situaciones de estrés y fatiga, dificultad para conciliar el sueño, este ungüento es lo mejor que he conocido nunca. Combinado con un aceite esencial lograremos atacar el problema que se nos presente, con lavanda para relajar y eliminar dolores, con menta para combatir el dolor de cabeza y despejar la mente, con bergamota para reducir las tensiones emocionales y mejorar el estado anímico... hay mil combinaciones posibles!

For wounds, burns, bruises, sores, headaches, stress and fatigue, difficulty sleeping, this salve is the best I've ever tried. Combined with an essential oil we will be able to relieve any problem, with lavender essential oil to relax and eliminate pain, with mint to soothe headaches and clear the mind, with bergamot to reduce emotional stress and improve mood ... there are thousands of possible combinations!

mini exfoliantes / mini sugar scrubs

Los exfoliantes a base de azúcar y aceite de coco son ideales para todo tipo de pieles y zonas del cuerpo, los mejores exfoliantes labiales que probaréis serán los que tengas como base estos 2 ingredientes! En este post, os presentaba unos mini exfoliantes que además de efectivos, son muy vistosos y huelen divinamente!

Based  sugar and coconut oil scrubs are ideal for all skin types and all the body. The best lip scrub you may try is the one  based on  these two ingredients! In this post, I shared these lovely mini sugar scrubs, which apart from effective, they are quite cute and smell heavenly!

crema restauradora de madera / restorative wood polish

En el ámbito doméstico, el aceite de coco es un gran aliado para tratar la madera, un poquito de aceite de coco y verás cómo potencia y restaura la belleza natural de tus muebles de madera!

In the domestic scope, coconut oil is a great ally to treat wood, a minimun amount of coconut oil and it will restore the natural beauty of your wooden furniture!

Para acabar, aunque queda mucho por mencionar sobre el aceite de coco y muchos productos que ya iremos publicando, no me quiero despedir sin contaros un tip de belleza que me encanta y se ha vuelto para mí insustituible. El aceite de coco es el mejor desmaquillante que podáis probar, una vez que le deis una oportunidad no querréis volver a los productos desmaquillantes que se venden en el mercado. Es absolutamente ideal para quitar cualquier maquillaje, incluida la máscara de pestañas.
Elimina el maquillaje, hidrata la piel y limpia en profundidad. Sin mencionar que os estaréis ahorrando un dinerillo en productos, y evitando un sinfín de químicos totalmente innecesarios sobre vuestra piel!

Finally, although much remains to mention about coconut oil and many products about which we will be posting soon, I don´t want to finish without sharing a beauty tip that I really love and has become irreplaceable for me. Coconut oil is the best makeup remover that you will ever try, once you give it a chance you won´t want to return to the comercial cleansing products. It is absolutely ideal for removing any makeup, including mascara.
It removes makeup, while cleans and moisturizes the skin in depth. No need to mention that you might be saving some money on products and avoiding endless totally unnecessary chemicals on your skin!
